We had a princess party for Maddy's 4th birthday this year. She requested a party with no boys, although I don't think she really understood what this meant because on the day of her party, she asked where Brady was.
So, we threw a girls only princess party and Cinderella even game to to the party! Belle was originally supposed to come, but Belle got very sick and sent Cinderella instead. Cinderella painted faces, made balloon animals and sang to Maddy. A co-worker of mine has two girls that are a few years older than mine and we get some great hand-me-downs from her girls. Last year, we got about 15 princess dresses from her and put them to good use at the party. Each girl got to wear a princess dress and a princess crown (I found them at Target for a buck.)
Notice Maddy holding her Cinderella doll. As soon as Cinderella showed up, Maddy ran and got her doll to show.
Something is missing in this picture. . . . .
. . .much better!
Maddy got to make the menu for her party. She went with PB&J, carrot sticks, snap peas, watermelon, apples (no skin) and strawberries - all her favorites!
Greta let us borrow her bounce house for the party for some added fun.
My girl could not have been happier!
Check out that cake - Safeway made it!
As Maddy hugged Cinderella good-bye, she asked that Cinderella please check on Belle to make sure she was feeling better. We had originally requested Belle to come to the party, but the owner of the company's house burnt down and Belle's dress went with it. So, we had Cinderella come instead, but told Maddy she was sick because she didn't understand the fire situation.
It was such a fun day!
